Our school resource officer is a full time, sworn law-enforcement officer, with arrest powers. The SRO is a uniformed presence at Watchung Borough schools.

The SRO will focus on the safety of the students and staff, as well as the security of the school grounds during regular session school days and any other time they are requested by the Board of Education.

The SRO acts as a liaison between law enforcement and the educational community, but also provides a highly visible presence at schools to deter or identify trespassers on campus.

In addition to these duties, the SRO also teaches the DARE program to the 5th grade class at Valley View Middle School.
